This video was released by HP last week, and has now been put up on YouTube. The video demonstrates most dramatically the disaster survivability of a number of HP hardware/software combinations, with OpenVMS featuring prominently, and recovering the fastest.

Posted at July 10, 2007 12:07 PMWhat has been noted in other places is that as VMS clustering is active-active then half of the users could have been on the system not blown up and therefore did not need to fail over. They would have noticed a short pause but nothing else.

You're right, Ian. In addition, hearing from the engineers at the site, they were even wondering why it took 13+ seconds to do the cluster transition...

Well, look on the bright side - even that crappy failover time made the other solutions look awful :)
