Early indictions of a reasonable performance increase due to the new AlphaServers are starting to become apparent.
When we were watching the application teams testing on the weekend, one of the test scripts that they had run on Friday to get a baseline took less that half the time to execute on the new machines.
And even better today, one of the large memory intensive sort/merges that the data warehouse did actually took one third of the time it usually takes.
We will have to see how this holds up over the week.
