DR planning
Disaster recovery planning is a never ending stream of "What ifs?"
- What if the DNS is not available in a timely fashion?
- What if there are too many CPUs configured in a machine?
- What if there are not enough?
- What if a tape library breaks down? How long will the restore take then?
- What if we want to test our external web presence on the web?
- What if someone finds the internet available test FTP server and transfers info to it thinking it's production?
- What if the recovery boxes can't talk to other production boxes that were not recovered because they are on the recovery network?
- What if I say "recovery" too many times in one sentence?
All these questions and more have to be answered.
